Affiliate Marketing Business - 5 Important Take Home Messages

MAKING BEAT SOFTWARE:

Starting up as a newbie in an affiliate marketing business can be a daunting task. With so many offers around and so many programs available, it can be a very confusing journey for a newbie. E-mail sales letter and product pages don't really explain how to be successful in the affiliate marketing business which adds to the frustration. You will often hear the statistics saying that almost 98% of all new starters will fail in their business. The remaining will either earn some money or make them rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Affiliate Marketing Business - 5 Important Take Home Messages

Whether or not you've just started or are in the middle of it, I will give you my two cents worth of advice.

1. Do Not Expect a Huge Windfall

People join affiliate marketing programs with different expectations and hopes. Some hope to make it big while some just want a side income. Whatever your reason is I repeat, do not expect a huge windfall of cash! One of the main problems in this business is that there is way too much hype. If you continue to believe in hype, you will find it really difficult to see success. People who believe in hype jump from one program to another without making any progress all in the hopes of making lots of money. If you are in this cycle, please stop doing it. Find a good affiliate marketing system, learn it and stick to it.

2. Do Not Expect Instant Results

Back in the early days of this business, there were also newbies. These newbies were also in the same problem as all the current newbies. They tried and failed. They spent thousands of dollars and still no results. But a few made it. The reason why they made it till this day is because they kept trying. Although it took a long time for some of them, they finally saw results. What I am trying to say here is some people will take one year to be successful. Some may take a few years. Some even less than a year. The time frame may vary from one affiliate marketer to another but the point is that no one is an instant millionaire in this business.

3. Expect a Learning Curve

The affiliate marketing business really does not require a university degree to be successful. But there are things to learn. Expect a learning curve when you are in this business because certain skills are required here. Do not let this learning curve be a stumbling block for you as it might take a while to understand how it all works. How successful you are in this business really depends on how much effort you put into it. In my own personal experience, persistence and determination will keep you going.

4. Expect To Spend Money

Some of you might shudder at the thought of spending money. But as with every business you need to make an investment. The most basic investment you can make is to pay for your website hosting and domain. If you have more funds, you can invest in a good affiliate marketing software. You can also invest in pay per click advertising or banner ads. You can even join membership sites that teach you how to be an affiliate marketer. I can go on and on but the possibilities are endless. Bear in mind that spending more does not equate to a higher chance of success.

5. Expect Competition

The affiliate marketing business has been around for a long time and it has seen its fair share of competition. This varies between products of services. Most newbies want to be in this business because it has such high hopes of making lots of money. Unfortunately, halfway through when they encounter competition they think that they won't make it and so give up. But being in a competition does not necessarily make you less likely to succeed. Depending on how you want to view this, competition can be seen as a challenge and so you would do whatever it takes to beat the competition. Alternatively, you can choose to join a less competitive affiliate market. Do whatever that works for you but do not let it stop you.

I hope you will begin to see this business in a different light. The affiliate marketing business is still very lucrative and should not be viewed as a dying industry. Do not let the naysayers let you think otherwise. I wish you all the best of luck.

Sincerely,
Bryan Wong YH
