Do You Have What it Takes to Be an Online Entrepreneur?
According to a few online marketing "gurus", you only need an internet connection and a computer to start raking in the Internet dough. For a few other "gurus", you only need to buy their software to start watching a pile of money pour into your bank account.
While I believe that the Internet has made it possible for anyone to flex their entrepreneurial muscle and make money, I always look at these kinds of claims with a healthy dose of skepticism (as well should you!). It's not because I doubt their marketing systems and products - in fact, they could very well have a system that makes earning online money as simple as pushing a button.
But when it comes down to it, it's who's pushing the button that makes all the difference between a successful online entrepreneur and just another person who wants to make a quick buck without working hard.
Having your own online business isn't a walk in the park - and if any internet marketing "guru" is promising you that, then you should run in the opposite direction as quickly as possible! It's like running any other kind of business: save for enormous start-up costs, you'll need a viable business plan, a killer marketing strategy, and an effective method for dealing with any customer service problems. You'll also need to find a high-quality product or develop one yourself, research a specific niche and even research industry keywords that you can use to optimize your marketing efforts.
In short, it's a little more complicated than simply "pushing a button"!
That's why before you can even start your online business venture, you need to take a look at who you are as a marketer. If you're uncomfortable at the thought of hard work, plenty of research and making a few mistakes along the way, then becoming an online entrepreneur might not be the best option for you.
But if you:
• Thrive off of a challenge;
• Are self-motivated and very disciplined (in other words, you'll make yourself work, even when you don't want to!);
• Are willing to make a few mistakes without beating yourself up about it;
• And understand that an online business is exactly that - a business;
Then congratulations: you've got what it takes to become a successful online entrepreneur!
To Your Continued Success,
Tkey:)
